EurasiaFootball
The independent media project focused on football in Central Asia
Our
concept
is simple: the Football Silk Road. From the East — through Central Asia and the Balkans — to the West, and back again. Along this route, players, coaches, ideas, styles, and football careers have been moving for decades
Central
Asia
is a historic crossroads of routes and meanings. For centuries, branches of the Silk Road converged here, bringing together civilisations, cultures and ideas. Today, the region remains a point of attraction for football professionals from all over the world — players, coaches, and specialists
The Balkans
represent a similar crossroads on the European side: a region where different traditions and religions have intertwined for centuries. One of Europe’s most recognisable football schools was formed here. Balkan footballers are highly valued across many leagues, and Central Asia is one of the places where their influence is especially visible
Our mission
is to blur footballing borders — to connect people through the game while introducing the world to football in Central Asia. We do not write only about matches and league tables. Context matters to us: the lives and careers of players and coaches, how clubs are structured, how leagues and competitions develop, and how football federations operate. For us, football is part of culture, economics, and social life
EurasiaFootball
publishes news and analysis, interviews and reports, opinion columns, and archival materials. The project operates in several languages in order to be accessible both within the region and beyond it
