Pakhtakor have signed Polish striker Piotr Parzyszek on a deal until the end of 2026, strengthening their attack with a forward who recently impressed in Europe.

The 32-year-old arrives as a free agent after a short but high-profile spell with Finnish champions KuPS Kuopio. In the 2025/26 UEFA Conference League he scored three times in the league phase — including a late goal against Crystal Palace that proved crucial in securing KuPS a place in the knockout stage.

The move follows the departure of Igor Sergeev, an Uzbekistan national-team striker who has joined Iran’s Persepolis. Pakhtakor are replacing last season’s leading domestic scorer with a classic No.9 profile: Parzyszek is 1.91m tall, operates as a target forward, and is known for his aerial presence and penalty-box movement.

His career has largely been built across Europe’s second tiers and competitive mid-table projects — from Charlton in England to Serie B side Frosinone and Spain’s Leganés — but he has also logged multiple seasons in the Netherlands and won Poland’s Ekstraklasa title with Piast Gliwice in 2018/19.

Tactically, Pakhtakor’s setup places major responsibility on the central striker — not only to finish chances, but to pin centre-backs and create space for wide runners and inside forwards. Parzyszek’s hold-up play and box presence suggest he has been brought in to lead the line rather than serve as a stylistic alternative to a more mobile forward.

Pakhtakor finished second in last season’s Uzbek Super League and won the national cup, earning another continental campaign later this year. For Parzyszek, the move offers a leading role, a new market, and a chance to turn recent European exposure into a new chapter — this time in Central Asia.
