Al Wahda opened the scoring in the 23rd minute through Argentine midfielder Facundo Kruspzky.

Nasaf were handed a golden opportunity to draw level in the 38th minute when they were awarded a penalty. In a surprise move, goalkeeper Abduvohid Nematov stepped up to take it, but failed to convert.

The miss proved costly almost immediately. Just a minute later, Kruspzky struck again to complete his brace and put Al Wahda 2-0 up.

Nasaf responded shortly after the restart, with substitute Bobur Abdikholikov pulling one back in the 47th minute. The hosts pushed for an equaliser but were unable to find a second goal.

It was Nasaf’s first defeat of the competition. The Karshi club began their campaign with a goalless draw against Bahrain’s Al Khaldiya.

Elsewhere in Group A, Kuwait SC beat Al Khaldiya 3-1.

After two rounds, Al Wahda top the group with six points. Kuwait SC have three, while Nasaf and Al Khaldiya are on one point each.

Nasaf will next host Kuwait SC on October 28.
