Ordabasy have been crowned Kazakhstan Premier League champions for the second time in the club’s history, securing the 2026 title with one round still to play.

The Shymkent side were confirmed as champions after Kairat were held to a 2-2 draw by Aktobe in the 29th round. The result left Ordabasy four points clear at the top of the table, with 68 points to Kairat’s 64.
It is Ordabasy’s second league title after their breakthrough championship in 2023.
Moldovan coach Andrei Martin has guided the club to the title this season, with Norwegian striker Bjørn Johnsen playing a major role in the campaign.
The 34-year-old has scored 14 goals and provided three assists in 17 league appearances and leads the Kazakhstan Premier League scoring chart ahead of the final round. He also scored back-to-back hat-tricks against Atyrau and Kaisar during the autumn stage of the season.
The title also means Ordabasy will represent Kazakhstan in the qualifying rounds of the 2027/28 UEFA Champions League. The club last featured in Champions League qualifying in 2024.
Ordabasy will complete their domestic season away to Irtysh Pavlodar on 31 October.
