Brest make formal offer for Abdumajidov, but Pakhtakor reluctant to let him leave

French Ligue 1 side Brest have submitted a formal offer for Pakhtakor defender Muhammadrasul Abdumajidov, but the Uzbek club are currently reluctant to let the 22-year-old leave, Eurasia Football understands.

The written proposal from Stade Brestois 29, dated August 28, is for a loan deal with an option to buy.

Abdumajidov’s agent told Eurasia Football that the package includes a paid loan, appearance-related bonuses, a purchase option worth several hundred thousand dollars and a 10% sell-on clause in favour of Pakhtakor from a future transfer.

According to the player’s representative, the guaranteed loan fee is around €50,000, with additional payments depending on the number of appearances Abdumajidov makes in France.

The agent believes the overall terms are favourable for Pakhtakor, particularly as the club would retain both a potential transfer fee through the purchase option and a percentage of any subsequent sale.

However, a source close to Pakhtakor told Eurasia Football that the club consider the guaranteed €50,000 loan payment too low and currently do not plan to let the defender leave.

The player’s camp, meanwhile, are waiting for a formal response from the Uzbek champions.

Brest’s written proposal confirms that the French club’s interest has progressed beyond preliminary talks and that they are prepared to bring Abdumajidov to France immediately under a structured loan-to-buy agreement.

Abdumajidov has established himself as a first-team defender at Pakhtakor and is regarded as one of the club’s most promising young players. His representatives believe a move to Ligue 1 would be an important step in his development and could significantly increase his market value.

For Pakhtakor, however, the sporting value of keeping a regular first-team centre-back currently appears to outweigh the guaranteed financial part of Brest’s offer.

As things stand, the French club have made their move. The decision now rests with Pakhtakor.
