Uzbekistan head coach Fabio Cannavaro has signed an agreement with a Latin American agency that will look for potential coaching opportunities for the Italian in Mexico and the United States.

According to Mexican broadcaster TUDN, Cannavaro has reached an agreement with a company representing coaches and players across Latin America.
TUDN reporter Francisco Arredondo said on the Línea de 4 programme that Cannavaro’s representatives will explore opportunities for him to take charge of a club in Mexico’s Liga MX or Major League Soccer should a suitable vacancy arise.
Cannavaro, however, remains in charge of the Uzbekistan national team.
The Italian took over Uzbekistan in October 2025 and led the team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Following the tournament, the Uzbekistan Football Association confirmed that his contract runs until October 2027.
Cannavaro previously managed Guangzhou Evergrande in China, the Chinese national team, Italian clubs Benevento and Udinese, and Dinamo Zagreb.
As a player, he captained Italy to the 2006 FIFA World Cup title and won the Ballon d’Or later that year.
