Tobol defender Pap-Alyoune Ndiaye was threatened with a knife during a confrontation with two young men in Kostanay, according to reports. The Senegalese-born footballer was not injured.

The incident took place on November 1 in the entrance of a residential building on Kairbekova Street. ASnews.kz first reported the attack, while the Telegram channel Gray Cardinal later identified Ndiaye as the player involved.
According to the published account, the 28-year-old became involved in a verbal dispute with two Kazakh citizens born in 2007. The young men threatened him with a knife during the argument, but Ndiaye suffered no physical injuries.
Administrative reports were drawn up against both young men under Article 434 of Kazakhstan’s Code of Administrative Offences, which concerns minor hooliganism. The case materials have been sent to court for consideration. The two men had reportedly travelled to Kostanay to take part in sporting competitions and were temporarily renting an apartment in the same building.
Ndiaye previously spoke positively about life in Kazakhstan in an interview with ASnews.kz, saying he felt at home and safe in Kostanay.
He has played for Tobol since 2024. Before joining the Kostanay club, the defender featured for Ukraine’s Vorskla, Austria’s Altach and Turkey’s Şanlıurfaspor, and was also part of Bologna’s system. With Tobol, he has won the Kazakhstan Cup and Super Cup.
