Dushanbe has officially opened its new National Stadium, with a capacity of more than 30,000 spectators. The opening ceremony on August 21 was attended by Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Dushanbe Mayor and Tajikistan Football Federation President Rustam Emomali.

The arena occupies a 9.5-hectare site and features two tiers of stands, with more than 12,000 seats on the lower level and around 18,000 on the upper tier. The football pitch measures the standard 105 by 68 metres, while the total playing area is 130 by 87 metres.
According to the official statement, the stadium was built in line with FIFA requirements and is designed to host high-level international matches.
The total floor area of the complex exceeds 42,000 square metres, while the structure reaches a height of 33 metres. The building has five above-ground floors and one underground level.
Two LED screens, each covering 133 square metres, have been installed inside the stadium. Lighting is provided by 312 Philips floodlights designed to support HD and 4K television broadcasts. Spectator access is controlled through 68 electronic turnstiles.
Players have access to four dressing rooms with a combined capacity of 104 people. The hospitality infrastructure includes a 32-seat VVIP lounge, 34 VIP rooms with 306 seats in total, and 26 CIP rooms accommodating 416 guests.
One of the stadium’s most distinctive features is a facade media-projection system covering more than 30,000 square metres, allowing images and graphics to be displayed across the exterior of the building.
A parking area for more than 750 vehicles has also been built next to the arena.
At the main entrance, a fountain shaped like Emomali Rahmon’s signature has been installed. Officials describe it as an art installation dedicated to the president’s involvement in the implementation of the project.
Construction of the 30,000-seat stadium began in 2019. It was initially expected to open in time for the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence in 2021, but completion was postponed several times.
The venue was ultimately commissioned ahead of celebrations marking the country’s 35th anniversary of independence.
The new arena is expected to become one of the main home venues of the Tajikistan national team. The Tajikistan Football Federation has previously described it as a modern stadium built to international standards.
