Khujand head coach Milan Milanović has been named the Tajikistan Higher League’s best coach for August.

The Serbian specialist guided Khujand through the month unbeaten. In the league, his side drew 1–1 with CSKA Dushanbe and defeated Istaravshan 2–0. Khujand also won both of their Tajikistan Cup matches in August, beating Vakhsh 2–0 before securing an important 3–1 away victory over Ravshan in the first leg of the semi-final.
Across the four matches, Khujand recorded three wins and one draw, scoring eight goals and conceding only two.
The team later completed the job against Ravshan in the second leg and advanced to the Tajikistan Cup final. The achievement has added extra significance to Khujand’s 2026 campaign, with the club celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Milanović took charge of Khujand ahead of the anniversary season and has gradually reshaped the team while keeping the club in contention for silverware.
Earlier this year, the Serbian coach spoke to Eurasia Football about Khujand’s ambitions, Tajik football and the development of the game in Central Asia.
Asked whether Khujand could challenge for the Tajikistan Cup and a place among the leading teams in the league, Milanović stressed that progress had to come through consistent work.
“You can compete, you can improve, you can set high goals. But you have to reach them through work,” he told Eurasia Football.
